ASSEMBLY GUIDE

ClicPCB Core Edition Kit

System Overview

The ClicPCB kit is a modular platform designed for:

  • Mechanical integration of PCBs
  • Structured organization of electronic assemblies
  • Scalable prototyping
  • Controlled electrostatic management

The system is intended for:

  • Advanced makers
  • System integrators
  • Hardware developers
  • Advanced technical environments

Kit Contents

The kit includes:

  • Structural tubular segments
  • ESD dissipative angle connectors
  • PCB supports
  • Copper conductor for electrostatic management
  • Technical documentation

All connectors in the Core Edition kit are made from ESD dissipative material.

Modular Principle

The system enables:

  • Linear assembly
  • Square structures
  • Cubic structures
  • Multi-level configurations
  • Certified ClicPCB extensions

All components are mechanically compatible.

Electrostatic Management (ESD)

Principle

The structure can be referenced to the GND of an electronic system in order to:

  • Limit charge accumulation
  • Reduce local potential gradients
  • Equalize structural potential

The system is not a Faraday cage. It is a referenced dissipative structure.

Supplied Copper Ground Wire

The kit includes a copper conductor (5 m).

Recommended typical usage:
30 cm to 1 m, depending on configuration.

The conductor is intended to:

  • Create one or more GND reference points
  • Connect the structure to the GND of a PCB

It is recommended to properly strip the wire ends before connection.

General Grounding Rules (GND)

Fundamental Principle

A GND point defines a reference.
Multiple connections without proper design may create conductive loops.

Linear Structure (n segments)

Example: aligned segments

1 GND point is sufficient

2D Closed Structure (square / rectangle)

Do not connect all four segments simultaneously.

Usage Recommanded GND Points
Standard 1
Sensitive 2 opposite segments

3D Structure (cube – 12 segments)

Avoid any fully closed conductive loop.

Usage Recommanded GND Points
Standard 1 base
Optimized 2 opposite base
Advanced Max 3 ( 2 base + 1 opposite vertical )

Multi-Level Structure

Recommended rules:

  • 1 to 2 GND points per horizontal level
  • Symmetrical distribution
  • No conductive loop

GND Summary Table

Structure Type Recommanded GND Points
Line 1
Square 1 to 2
Cube 1 to 3
Multi-level 2 to 4 maximum

RF Recommendations

For RF modules (433 MHz, WiFi, GSM, etc.):

  • Keep antennas at least 15 mm away from structural segments
  • Do not create a fully closed conductive loop
  • Prefer partially grounded structures

The ClicPCB structure is not an RF shielding system.

Certified ClicPCB Extensions

Certified extensions:

  • Ensure mechanical compatibility

  • Respect GND topology
  • Follow RF recommendations
  • Maintain system consistency

Each certified extension includes:

  • Reference
  • Version
  • Validation date

Scalability

ClicPCB is a scalable platform.

All certified extensions are:

  • Backward compatible
  • Documented
  • Validated according to ClicPCB internal criteria

Conditions of Use

ClicPCB is intended for:

  • Prototyping
  • Development integration
  • Functional testing

This system:

  • Is not industrially certified
  • Is not ATEX certified
  • Is not a regulatory grounding system

Important Recommendation

Electrostatic management:

  • Reduces risks
  • Does not replace standard ESD best practices
  • Does not replace a certified environment

A Complete Solution

Featuring 21 categories of components, each supplied in multiple units, the ClicPCB kit enables an extensive range of configurations and assemblies.
